DFC CLASS #2: Let's talk Santas.
I get asked all the time "Who's the best Santa?" That is a COMPLETELY loaded question!!! It's like me asking you who your favorite child is. You may have one, but are you REALLLLLY going to say it out loud? haha
- Do you want continuity (Majority)?
- Do you pick depending on the background that year?
- Do you let your child select who they come see each year?
- Does it depend on the exact date you need that fits your schedule?
- Or do you sign up super late and you get what you get and don't get upset?
So, my first answer is this: They are ALL AMAZING SANTAS. If they weren't, they wouldn't be part of DFC. Flat out. We don't. just hire anyone. They are ALL unique and ALL provide a magical experience. They have all brought me to tears watching what they do.
Do I think there is a BEST ONE? No, really I don't. I do believe since some of them have been with me longer, they are more popular and word trickles down.
I compare it to selecting a hairdresser. The ones that have been there the longest have the biggest following but someone with just as much experience but new have to build their people.
I will preface this with: This is not to downplay the talent of ANY of my guys. However, this is Santa Jim's 11th season. Santa Kevin's 10th, and Santas Matthew's 7th, so naturally they are the most popular. It's Santa Dennis' and Santa Mike's 6th, Santa Dave's 3rd, and Santa Bob's 2nd so they will show more availability.
My point is this: Come September 1, Santa Jim will fill up super fast (always does), followed by Santa Kevin and so on. Some Santas will have availability into the start of the season. So ask yourself: do you want to freak out every Sept 1 at 9am and panic when we break the internet for the first hour or take your time? The choice is yours. I mean.... there are only so many hours in a day. Eventually it will be a battle no matter what because all 7 of my guys are going to build that relationship over the next few years and it will be ANARCHY. But until then.. These are just some things to consider. Again - transparency. Please feel free to ask any questions when choosing your Santa. Just don't ask me who's my favorite.
